PRONUNCIATION SKILL



Ø  If the given word is two syllables noun the stress should be in the first part of the word, ex- record. If it is two syllables verb then the stress should be in the second part of the word, ex- recording.
Ø  If the word is ending with (tion) or (ssion) or (ic) then the stress should be in the penalty mate part of the word. Penalty mate means second part from the right. Ex- fantastic, commission.
Ø  If a word is ending with ( phy) or (cy) the stress should be in the anti paradigmatic part of the word. Anti paradigmatic means third part from right. Ex- democracy, philosophy, photography.
Ø  If a given word is compound noun the stress should be in the first part of the noun. Ex- desktop, laptop.
Ø  If the given word is a compound verb then the stress should be in the second part of the word. Ex- understands.
Ø  While we read a word willing to keep a bit stress in the starting part of the word. If any word is not satisfying the above condition, we need to put stress in the first part of the word. Ex- car, power play, wickets, century, football, child labor, maintain, training, parliament, environment, hotel, executive.
